PREFERENTIAL TARIFF

Preferential Electricity Tariffs from Assured Heating Limited

Listed below are the different tariffs that you may be on with your existing supplier. Please read the section which pertains to you - this will indicate the time scale needed to pre-order your meter and also any further action that may be required prior to the installation of your new electric heating system.

Economy 2000
This tariff is available from Scottish Power and works by giving you 18 hours of off-peak, (half price) electricity per day. The Economy 2000 should only be used on thermal store boilers.

Existing Scottish Power users can usually have the meter fitted within 21 days. Transferring to Scottish Power from your existing supplier can be done by telephoning 0141 568 6065. They will give you an indication of the average running costs. You will, however, need to ask for the Customer Liaison Officer to call you back and this can take 1-2 days.

The meter works by radio signal and the shut down periods are:
00:00 - 02:00
08:00 - 10:00
16:30 - 18:30

Comfort Plus
This tariff gives power to the storage heaters and hot water twice daily and is supplied by Scottish Power.

To change from this tariff to Economy 10 you must contact Scottish Power yourself to request that a new credit meter is fitted, (this will take approximately 3-4 weeks)¹. This will allow the process to fit the Economy 10 meter to continue which may take a further 3-4 weeks.

¹ We cannot do this on your behalf because of the Data Protection Act.

Pre-Payment Meters
These meters will have to be removed and replaced by a Dry Credit Meter from Scottish Hydro Electric. They will contact you for the current meter readings from their Pre-Payment meter before the Dry Credit meter can be fitted, (this usually takes 3-4 weeks). Please allow a further 3-4 weeks for the Economy 10 meter to be fitted.

Economy 7
This tariff powers the existing storage heaters and hot water during the night and is provided by Scottish Power With this tariff you will automatically be transferred to Scottish Hydro Electric in approximately 3-4 weeks. A letter will be sent out about 2-3 weeks after that to confirm the fitting of the Economy 10 meter.
